Skin rash / Pretibial Myxedema

If you are concerned that you might have pretibial myxedema (the skin condition about 1% of Graves' patients get on the lower legs) you should see a dermatologist. Basically, the P.T. makes the skin look a bit like the rind of an orange: reddish perhaps in tone from the rest of the skin, thicker, clottier. It typically does not itch, either. I have had that problem. And now I have something more like eczema. Same dermatologist, though, so I trust the different diagnoses, even though they are occurring right where the old P.T. was. The difference is that this condition itches like mad.
