Most recently, the Foundation's Patient & Family Conference was attended by many patients and their family members. Special thanks to Terry Smith, MD our Program Chair for the Conference who arranged for 5 nationally renowned experts who spoke on 9 Graves' topics. Those who attended developed new friendships and reconnected with old friends.

We are embarking on our first year with a new Board of Directors, a new outlook and plan, and the able leadership of Peter Filocamo, who has been our President since last November. You have already seen many of his talents demonstrated in the e-newsletter, the updating of www.ngdf.org , and the major planning of this conference. You will hear more about support groups in your cities, membership drives, and fundraising. As we move forward with our patient services and public awareness, we are striving to fund research-an entirely new and exciting area of participation for the Graves' Disease Foundation.

A special thanks to Kathleen and Steve Flynn for their philanthropic support to the Foundation. We are honored to Dr. Terry Smith chair our Medical & Scientific Committee with his knowledge and expertise to guide the Foundation.
