Planned Giving

Making a planned gift to the Graves’ Disease Foundation is a special way to support our mission -- to help those affected by Graves’ and find the cause and cure of Graves’ disease.

A planned gift allows you to donate assets beyond your lifetime while providing additional income for you and/or your heirs, reducing income and estate taxes, relieving you and your heirs of complicated financial management responsibilities and helping to fulfill your personal, humanitarian and charitable objectives.

Planned gifts may be made in many forms: cash, real estate, stocks, bonds, qualified retirement plans, personal property or life insurance.

Making a Bequest in your Will

One of the simplest planned gifts is a bequest through your will in which you designate either a specific dollar amount or a percentage of your estate after other disbursements. A bequest is fully deductible for estate tax purposes.

To make a bequest of cash, securities, or other property to the Graves’ Disease Foundation, your will (or supplemental codicil, if you do not wish to write a new will), should state:

"I give and bequeath to the Graves’ Disease Foundation, a 501 C(3) charitable tax-exempt not-for-profit organization, having its principal office at 400 International Drive, Williamsville, NY 14221, (Option 1) the sum of $_______, (Option 2) ______ percent of the rest, residue and remainder of my estate, (Option 3) the following assets: (e.g. real estate, securities, personal property), to be used for general unrestricted purposes of the organization."
